Job Description:

ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com) is accepting expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for the position of Community Development Advisor, to serve as part of the Local Governance and Community Development Project (LGCD) funded by USAID. The LGCD is headquartered in Kabul and targeting underserved communities in north and west Afghanistan.

The Community Development Advisor will work with professional Afghan staff to develop innovative community mobilization program activities that promote increased capacity for communities to represent their interests to local government representatives and line ministries. Activities may include developing vocational training programs, cooperative associations for managing community assets; community based agricultural assistance, and other innovative community based interventions.

Job Requirements:

Requirements Include: --Previous experience in USAID funded Community Development projects with a focus on capacity building, association development and community/government relations; --Previous experience in managing the mobilization and oversight of complex projects in developing and conflict prone countries; --Proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams under complex conditions providing technical guidance to the overall program components; --Proven ability to provide deliverables on time and within budget; --Demonstrated ability to think strategically and transmit vision to partners and colleagues; --Previous experience in Afghanistan preferred; --Masters degree or equivalent in relevant field and 8 to 10 years of experience; --English 4/4 required.
