Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, site services and fuel management.
Our Client is the Aviation Division of this rapidly expanding group and provides vital services in supply air logistics to remote sites in post conflict locations and remote areas. They ensure essential items such as fresh food and other time critical cargo is delivered with minimal disruption, under the most challenging conditions.
They are currently seeking an Aviation Field Manager to work at their air operations sites in the Sudan.
The successful candidates to this position will ensure our clients operations on each ramp are executed safely and in accordance with the current Task Force Command Operations Orders (OPORD) and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGO).
Reporting into the Assistant General Manager - Aviation, the successful candidates will be primarily responsible for supervising all ground operations for cargo unloading, ground transport, aircraft clearance, updating flight crew and ultimately ensuring smooth arrival and departure of aircraft. Of equal importance will be the adherence to standard operating procedures, health and safety and daily reporting of operational status.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will have previous experience in aviation ground operations, be able to work for periods of time out on the tarmac, have strong man management skills, the patience to deal with a multi national work force and the ability to work from home for long periods of time.
You will have the ability to work under pressure and display superb confidence while working with the various Air crews.
You should possess good communication skills in English and in French and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished air ground operations professional looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 – 18 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 months service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off
In addition Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
