1019 - Logistics Project Manager - Food Logistics

Job Description:

Founded in 1986, our Client is an established food logistics, marine and facilities provider and part of a much larger group. They operate throughout the Middle East operating both in the commercial sector as well as in the military and defence sector.


They specialize in the supply of deck, engine and provision stores to vessels calling at UAE ports as well as all ports of Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Djibouti and Oman. They also provide workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, passenger and cruise shipping, offshore oil and gas sector, specialist marine catering, fishing, seismic and offshore supply vessels and FPSO conversions.




They are currently seeking a Logistics Project Manager – Food Logistics to be based in Dubai. The successful candidate will report into the Managing Director and will be responsible for identifying improvements and managing various projects within our clients food logistics operations, part of their Military Supply Division.


In addition you will analyse the costing of current food expenditure and income and will revise estimates and income according to various scenarios.


You will negotiate with our clients partners and will be travel between our clients sites within the Middle East and the Head Office base in Dubai.


You will establish, monitor and enforce operational and financial KPIs and take ownership and champion both continuous improvement and health and safety standards.




Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:


Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in third party logistics management although any wholesaling / multi drop background will be considered. A military background would be very useful as would experience of food logistics.


Your practical experience should be supported by a Degree in either logistics and supply chain, finance or business administration.


Candidates for the position will need to demonstrate the ability to organise and efficiently manage projects in a complex logistics operation supported by strong commercial acumen and excellent knowledge of budgets and financial planning.


. You will be able to show that you fully understand the importance of the relationship between sales success and quality of service delivery.


You will be energetic, highly motivated, results oriented and capable of working in a team. Capable of independent thought and possess excellent planning and organisation skills able to work to tight deadlines, you should be fluent in written and spoken English and have a strong attention to detail.


Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.


You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.


Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate particularly in Excel and spreadsheets.

A competitive salary is paid in AED and is tax free for an Ex-Pat employee. In addition you will receive medical insurance, 30 days annual leave per year plus all UAE public holidays and an Ex- Pat employee will be entitled to 1 paid return economy flight per year. A housing allowance may also be available and relocation assistance will be considered, if required.
