Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, aviation, site services and fuel management.
Our client is the Support Services Division of this expanding international facilities Group which manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
They are currently seeking a French speaking Transport Manager for this division to be based in Chad.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of accurate, timely deliveries to our clients customers, the management and control of the movement of containers from all Ports of Origin and the management and execution of the unloading of containers.
In addition you will carry out cost and performance management of the transport contract and drivers, manage the maintenance of the depot vehicle fleet and manage the collection of stock and passengers arriving on incoming flights to the depot.
Job Requirements:
To meet this unique challenge, you will ideally be an ambitious transport professional with your transport management experience ideally gained in an fmcg / wholesaling environment.
With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an immediate contribution. In addition you should have a working knowledge of HACCAP and ISO 9000 standards.
A military background would be very useful as would experience of container management.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and French and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished French speaking transport professional looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in Euros and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off. In addition Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
