Our Client is the Fuels Trading Division and they provide vital services in fuel management and supply both to the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas.
They are currently seeking Liaison Officers who will act as our clients representatives to customers, end-users and stake holders for their fuel operations. The positions are based in Afghanistan. This will involve managing the passage of communications and information from customers back to our clients relevant point of contact in order to co-ordinate a positive response, follow up and close out with a successful solution.
Reporting into the Senior Liaison Officer the successful candidate will contribute ideas and initiatives that improve overall service performance and a positive effect on our clients working capital.
You will establish and maintain a working relationship with key military staff, internal customers, civilian contractors and stakeholders.
You will identify Business Development Opportunities and promote the brand of our clients fuels division.
You will develop processes and procedures for the military, civilian and internal customers liaised with on a daily.
You will manage the execution of the fuel supply plans, manage the maintenance and review of trends in statistical data relating to fuels operations.
Finally you will manage and support the accounts receivable team’s collection of outstanding debts, manage the preparation of detailed briefs for incoming deployments and manage customer expectations.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Fuels Manager and in order to be successful in this role, you should have an understanding of ground and aviation fuels and have a strong work history in a commercial field (operations) and Military field (operational and protocol) attaining a minimum rank of Captain.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by having attended courses at The Royal Logistics School of Petroleum based at West Moors, Dorset. England or country equivalent.
In addition you should be an accomplished Manager with excellent man management skills and commercial acumen and have proven leadership, resource and financial management skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should be PC / IT literate and possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Fuels Manager looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 to 18 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus available which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the work rota is approx 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off. Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
