1036 - Senior Fuels Trainer

Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, site services and fuel management.

Our client is the Fuels Trading Division which provides vital services in fuel management and supply to both the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas.

They are currently seeking a Senior Fuels Trainer to assist the Fuels Training Manager in the training of fuels staff working in Afghanistan.

Reporting into the Fuels Training Manager, the successful candidate will be required to manage, design and provide a team training program, manage a team of Fuels Trainers and implement and ensure safety is identified and adhered to at all times by both Trainers and Trainees.

You will design and provide the training program ( theory, practice and on – the - job training ) in such a way that staff will be able to refuel vehicles and aircraft to the agreed skill requirements set for their specific roles at the end of their training. You will provide the technical expertise to establish all training materials (Training Program, PowerPoint Training Modules, Training Videos, Exams, Training Manual) and ensure training contents are compliant with our clients SOPs, processes and procedures. You will tutor lectures to the trainees on all the PowerPoint Training Modules and will continuously monitor the performance of the trainees in the class room and record the results. You will identify weaknesses of trainees and provide additional training where required and will coordinate on-the-job training and ensure that performance evaluation by operational unit managers is recorded on the correct forms. You will continuously evaluate the quality of the Training Program and report improvement suggestions to the Training Manager and QHSE Manager. Finally you will assist the Training Manager in all activities required to ensure an efficient and effective training process.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

You should ideally have a military background, be an experienced fuel handler and have experience in delivering training programs in fuel handling and supply.

Your fuel technical knowledge and experience should ideally be supported by having attended courses at The Royal Logistics School of Petroleum based at West Moors, Dorset. England or equivalent.

Past experience within Pakistan and Afghanistan is highly beneficial.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally some Dari or Pashto language skills, and have excellent presentation and coaching skills.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate - Microsoft Office.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Fuel Handler with some trainer experience looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat different they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 – 18 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, single cover health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off

In addition Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
