1038 - Global Security Manager

Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, aviation, site services and fuel management.

Our client is the Fuels Trading Division which provides vital services in fuel management and supply to both the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas. They are currently seeking a Global Security Manager to be based at their regional service offices in Dubai, however the role will require extensive travel to our clients sites in Afghanistan, Africa etc. Reporting into the Assistant Operations Controller, the successful candidate will lead the security function, provide specialist security and intelligence support with the identification, development, implementation and maintenance of security and intelligence processes, practices and policies consistent with the principles of our clients security philosophy. Specifically and as appropriate, you will provide security management advice, support and / or oversight (globally) in relation to: special / high risk projects and activities that either have global reach or corporate risk implications, site security assessments threat / vulnerability / risk analyses, security due diligence, project security support, travel / journey management security support, provision of pragmatic security solutions, provision of appropriate training programs / materials, security personnel recruitment, identification / reporting of corporate risks. You will promote policies to support business operations in managing security risks including preparation, response and recovery and will assist appropriate staff to comply with security systems, policies, standards and procedures. You will manage the process of identifying, developing and implementing the companys global security and intelligence strategies and programs and will assist the Regional and National Security Managers in achieving appropriate strategic and operational security and intelligence outcomes within their areas of operation. You will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of appropriate security risk management methodology across the company’s operations, assist the company’s various business operations, build sustainable competitive advantage through timely provision of travel, security, political and terrorism risk information relevant to their operations and people. You will identify and manage appropriate, specialist security and intelligence providers and services, manage the development, rollout, support and assurance of a company wide security management system. Finally you will act as Custodian of our clients ‘Crisis’ domain and all sites under this domain, provide operational oversight of the 24/7 – Hotline Response Teams’ readiness, support services, live incident management and reporting and will maintain a global network of private and government organisations and relevant personnel.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be an accomplished Security Manager with significant experience working in two or more of: risk management, crisis management, emergency response, security risk, business continuity and disaster recovery fields. Your experience should include sometime managing relevant risk areas with a major corporation and you should have experience and exposure in the international security / intelligence arena dealing with related, complex issues. Your practical experience should be supported by a relevant degree from a university or military college and/or appropriate professional memberships. You should have the ability to work cooperatively with other employees, various governmental and private agencies, and the public. You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines. Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus earning opportunity which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition you will receive 25 days holiday plus public holidays, health insurance and 1 paid return family economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client. A Relocation Allowance of USD 4,500 is available and also assistance with schools fees. A lap top and mobile phone are provided for company business.
