Our client is the Support Services Division of this expanding international facilities Group which manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

They are currently seeking Laundry Supervisors to work at Kandahar Air Field and Camp Bastion, Southern Afghanistan.

Reporting to the Laundry Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the laundry operation.

You will ensure all incoming laundry bags are properly registered on our clients laundry daily sheets and will supervise the handling from the point of receiving the dirty laundry bag inside our clients laundry building throughout the washing procedure and to the point of handling the clean laundry bag to the customer.

You will be responsible for the organizing the internal laundry work procedure, ensuring the cleanliness of the washed clothes, handling the lost bags or items (in case this happens), preparing daily reports to the Laundry Manager with received and processed bags, daily reports on the status of the Laundry equipment if any malfunction has occurred, daily reports on laundry staff, daily reports on the status of the laundry consumables (detergent, softener..).

Finally you will keep an accident book detailing any accidents or injuries to laundry staff, a book for lost and found items and you will maintain a filing system for all reports and documents.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an energetic and accomplished English speaking Supervisor who can ideally speak fluently at least one other language which may be your native language.

Ideally you will have experience of working in an industrial or commercial laundry, however our client is prepared to consider anyone who has supervision experience in a production industrial type environment.

You should have good planning and organizational skills and be a team player.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and one other language, and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

This is an outstanding challenge for a Production Supervisor looking for something different.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Shared accommodation, laundry, local transport, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

Ex-Patriate employees will receive 40 days annual leave per year. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight in their first year of employment and thereafter 2 return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
