Our client is the Support Services Division of this expanding international facilities Group which manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

They are currently seeking Laundry Operators to work at Kandahar Air Field and Camp Bastion, Southern Afghanistan.

Reporting to the Laundry Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that clothes from laundry bags are not mixed with other bags.

You will fold clean/washed clothes in a proper way, ensuring you do not mix clothes from one bag with clothes from other bags.

You will make sure washed clothes are dry and pockets are empty, if anything found in the pockets or any damaged clothes you will report this to your Supervisor on duty.

You will help with loading/downloading of laundry bags from/to the laundry van.

Finally you will ensure you wear proper and clean laundry uniform at all times.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

You should be energetic and accomplished English speaking who can ideally speak fluently at least one other language which may be your native language.

Ideally you will have experience of working in an industrial or commercial laundry, however our client is prepared to consider anyone who has experience in a production industrial type environment.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and one other language, and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Shared accommodation, laundry, local transport, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

Ex-Patriate employees will receive 40 days annual leave per year. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight in their first year of employment and thereafter 2 return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
