Job Description:

Operates Class A, Four megawatt Prime Diesel Power Plant using SCADA automated power plant and power distribution operating systems. Conducts operation and maintenance, "O&M" on diesel engines and all auxiliary equipment. Monitors and records all voltages, frequencies, pressure, temperatures, and anomalies. Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and performs general housekeeping as required. Completes all scheduled preventive maintenance in a timely manner. Conducts all major engine repairs and overhauls, works with tolerances of within .0001 inch. Demonstrates a working knowledge to perform all engine troubleshooting using computer programs with "Caterpillar Electronic Technician" (ET). A previous working knowledge of Caterpillar 3500 series diesel generators is desired. Possess a working knowledge and use of electrical test equipment used in troubleshooting engine electrical systems. A working knowledge of Windows XP is required. Uses computer to monitor and control generator paralleling system, prepare graphs, and record data collected. Possess a valid State Drivers License. operates and properly maintains self inspections on Government Owned Vehicles (GOV). Complies to all environmental, health, and safety regulations, procedures, and instructions. Completes all mandatory training within required time frames.

Job Requirements:

High School education or equivalent. Technical training or military experience in powerhouse operations is desirable. Familiar with common hand and power tools used in a mechanical environment. This is a remote overseas assignment on Antigua Air Station, and no family accommodations are available. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC), which requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization. Valid U.S. Driver's license and U.S. Passport required. Shift schedule required. Must be able to interface and communicate effectively in a multi-cultural team-orientated environment.
