Our client is the Fuels Trading Division which provides vital services in fuel management and supply to both the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas.
They are currently seeking a Fuel Logistics Manager to be based in Afghanistan.
Reporting into the Assistant Operations Controller, the successful candidate will ensure that all technical purchasing is carried out as per our clients SOPs in a timely and pro-active manner. You will also ensure that all received items and equipment are accounted for and distributed to required locations.
Specifically you will keep the request register up-to-date, status of requests/orders, estimated times of arrival, delays and inform the requesters at least twice a week of the status of their orders.
You will be responsible forƒnmanaging local purchasing, the entire shipping and receiving process and the distribution of items to theatre, managing and distribution of stock items to the relevant location.
You will manage the purchasing filing system in accordance with our clients Purchasing
SOPs.
You willƒnmanage the cost centre allocation for distributed items, inventory management and asset allocation.
You will be responsible for theƒnplanning and coordination of in-country logistic needs and the managing of equipment/spares (including reordering and reporting).
Finally you willƒnprovide daily and weekly receipts/delivery reports and will co-ordinate receipts from our clients operations in Dubai and distribute them in timely manner to
requestors.
You should have considerable experience in fuels technical purchasing and a good understanding of fuel storage and distribution in general.
Ideally some of your fuels technical purchasing experience should be with a major petroleum company including the areas of shipping, trucking, stock control and strategic planning.
In addition you should have had management experience within a medium to large company covering all aspects from purchasing, inventory, quality service and other supply chain related activities.
Your practical experience should be supported by a qualification in Management in either Logistics and Supply Chain or Purchasing.
You should have a sound knowledge of international operations, planning and management, possess excellent people and strong leadership skills, strong commercial awareness and financial astuteness as well as strong negotiation skills.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines. You should have an eye for detail.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate - Microsoft Office.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Fuels Logistics Manager looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat different they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 ¡V 18 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month¡¦s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off
In addition Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
