Our client is the Fuels Trading Division which provides vital services in fuel management and supply to both the military and private companies operating in post conflict and remote areas.
They are currently seeking Plumbers to work at fuel sites in Afghanistan.
Reporting into the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidates will be responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of existing plumbing systems and the installation of new plumbing fixtures and systems.
You will repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.
You will also install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
You should be an energetic and accomplished English speaking Plumber who can ideally speak fluently at least one other language which may be your native language.
Your work experience should ideally be supported by a relevant trade qualification in plumbing.
You should possess a good level of knowledge of all aspects of plumbing. Experience of fuel equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
You will have experience of repairing piping and equipment using the appropriate tools, performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed, determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
You will know how to conduct tests and inspections of products, services and processes to evaluate quality or performance.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and one other language, and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Shared accommodation, laundry, local transport, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 40 days annual leave per year. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight in their first year of employment and thereafter 2 return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
