Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, site services and fuel management.
Our client is the Retail Services Division of this rapidly international FM group and are currently seeking a Retail Operations Controller to be based in Dubai to take the day to day responsibility of managing 33 PX / Retail units based in The Balkans, Afghanistan and The Sudan.
Reporting into the Support Services Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all retail contracts relating to the retail business unit are in the best interests
of our client, financially, ethically and legally.
You will profitably manage our clients retail services business in Afghanistan and The Balkans, to deliver operational excellence exceeding customer’s expectations and enhance the strategic capabilities of our client
You will develop and implement sales strategies with the Director – Support Services Division for the on going development of market share through the attainment of new business and incrementally growing the base business in Afghanistan, The Balkans and Africa.
You will ensure all tenders submitted adhere to ensure 100% compliancy as per customers requirements and you will successfully mobilise all new projects in accordance with contract requirements.
You will provide direct oversight for the Retail and Duty Free businesses, relating to all
financial and operational matters on behalf of the Divisional Director and you will establish all aspects of the annual marketing and business plan in coordination with the Regional Retail General Managers.
Job Requirements:
To meet this unique challenge, you will be an ambitious retail professional with significant retail experience ideally gained in an international recognised retail / duty free operation.
Experience of having worked for companies such as NAAFI, AFFES, DCS etc would be ideal and your experience should ideally be supported by an MBA, Business or Finance Degree.
You should have a proven record of direct P & L accountability for a number of retail locations.
With outstanding leadership ability and a strong customer focus, you will have the confidence to win credibility and make an immediate contribution.
Experience in QSR Area / Regional Management like McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, Subway etc and experience in a Franchise community would be highly advantageous.
You should be familiar with retail EPOS, computer based stock and WMS systems and possess a high standard of PC skills (MS Office)
You should also have an appreciation of warehouse and logistics operations.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus earning opportunity payable of up to 20% of the basic salary which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
In addition a company car is provided or car allowance and a one off relocation allowance is also available, 5 weeks plus public holidays, health insurance and 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
