Job Description:

Within the Logistics Division, they ensure essential items such as food and bottled water is delivered with minimal disruption, under the most challenging conditions.
They operate multi-temperature distribution centres in Afghanistan on behalf of countries who are participating in ISAF, the multi-national peacekeeping force in Afghanistan. They are currently seeking an Assistant Customer Service Manager.
Reporting into the Customer Service Manager (CSM) the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting “Best Practice” customer service through the timely and accurate processing of all customer orders and the fast and decisive response to all customer enquiries.
Specifically you will oversee all expiry issues to avoid losses by our client by recommending the course of action needed to avoid losses and instruct Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) on procedures to avoid the loss.
You will recommend substitutions for products in coordination with the Supply Chain team Procurement team and the CSM and will inform customers of the substitution recommendation for dissemination to ordering point customers.
You will co-ordinate communication between Joint Logistics Command (JLC) and our client on all ordering issues and procedures.
You will track all road deliveries and provide updates to the customer in a timely manner.
You will co-ordinate reported losses with the Finance and Transport departments for compensation and will provide all documentation need to support any claims.
Finally you will document all operating instructions and will maintain the documentation to ensure it is current with directives and procedures and ensures conformity to instructions.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge you will ideally be a sales and / or customer services professional and ideally knowledgeable of international food products and computerized ordering and inventory systems. A military background would be useful.
You should possess strong numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize high pressured workloads while maintaining both high levels of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
You should have proven leadership, management experience ideally in a food distribution business and possess excellent people skills, commercial awareness, financial astuteness and customer service skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished customer services professional looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.
In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
