Our client is part of a major group and operates in 40 countries, with nearly 29,000 employees.


It offers tailor-made service solutions for those working in extreme conditions in on- and off-shore locations and its activities also cover Corporate Services, Healthcare, Education and Defence sectors.

They are seeking a Commercial Development Manager to be based in Kuwait who will be responsible for the development of our clients commercial activities through a strategic enhancement of their profile in Kuwait. The key objectives of this role are to research the industry and its potential, source and develop relationships with potential clients and partners and interact with our operational team to develop proposals for winning new business.

Reporting into the Country Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic plan to identify key areas of growth potential including identification, prospect qualification, organization survey, proposal development, proposal delivery and contract negotiation.

You will maintain awareness of industry, competition and market conditions and leverage current client relationships to develop new business opportunities.

You will lead the tender process for all opportunities including submissions, clarifications, presentations and award.

You will provide support to existing and new sites in terms of conceptual development, promotions, merchandising and marketing.

You will execute / follow appropriate recording / reporting procedures related to commercial activities.

You will establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship resulting in highest levels of client and customer satisfaction and account retention, and future business growth plans.

You will liaise with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources functions throughout the proposal process.

You will understand relevant political and legislative issues to establish / facilitate new business activity / renewal of contracts.

You will manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.

You will market and manage the IFM Offer to strict financial objectives, quality and standards.

You will take ownership for the business and suggest improvements which will result in increased income and/or reduced costs.

You will plan best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organising current premises.


You will calculate and comparing costs for required goods or services.

You will check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.

You will liaise, report and maintain standards on the specialist segments such as maintenance, catering and cleaning.

You will direct and plan essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.

You will investigate the availability and suitability of options for new purchases.

Finally you will use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.



Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will be Arabic speaking accomplished Sales / Business Development / Commercial Manager and will have a proven track record in logistics, contract catering or facilities management sectors ideally in GCC and internationally.
Your practical experience should be supported by a Degree in Business Management, finance or engineering.
To be successful in this role, you require previous experience in proposals and bids administration ideally with high dollar value international contracts involving large private companies and government agencies. This should include whole life cycle from tendering, bidding, costing, lobbying, mobilisation to demobilisation and beyond.

You will have excellent business analytical skills and have the ability to understand the technical and operational aspects of all types of facilities management services.

You must be able to multi-task routine and complex contract activities with the ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, defining set plans to achieve contract goals.

Supported by excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills you will able to display solid strategic thinking, data manipulation and financial analytical skills.
. You will be able to show that you fully understand the importance of the relationship between sales success and quality of service delivery.

You will be energetic, highly motivated, results oriented and capable of working in a team.



Capable of independent thought and possess excellent planning and organisation skills able to work to tight deadlines, you should be fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English and have a strong attention to detail.

Ideally you should have knowledge of ISO quality system and QHSE international standards.

Instant credibility is essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Commercial Manager with FM experience looking for something different.

The basic salary will be paid in local Kuwaiti Dinars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus payable which will be paid in Dinars and also tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, medical / health insurance, life insurance, meals are all provided free. In addition you will have a fully expensed company car, laptop and mobile phone.

Ex-Patriate employees will receive R and R leave (tbd) with free paid return economy flights. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
