1328 - Invoicing Manager

Job Location: Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan

Job Description:

Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, aviation, transport and warehousing, camp services and fuel management.

Our client is the Support Services Division of this expanding international facilities Group which manages the design, construction and operation of sites for clients who need to operate in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

They are currently seeking an Invoicing Manager for their Technical Services / Construction Section based at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will comply with our clients inventory, supply policies and SOPs and will ensure the monthly billing is done in an accurate and timely manner.

Specifically you will oversee the creation of job cards, help with queries and will create service agreements in the ERP and update existing ones.

You will ensure policies are followed when data is entered in job cards, you will close all job cards on time and will ensure all the costs are recorded.

You will ensure the Operations Department forwards accurate information and will ensure everything is invoiced in a timely manner.

You will co-ordinate with the Head of Departments to receive the information on time
and you will optimize the flow of information from Operations to the Billing Department.

You will be responsible for improving procedures, provide an overview on work in progress and be responsible for the accuracy of the billing (1 to 2m USD per month).

You will assist Operations in issuing quotes to other Business Units and will validate all quotes issued by Operations.

Finally you will co-ordinate the inventory team and related functional personnel in clarifying issues and will assist with the analysis of inventory reports and maintenance work.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an accomplished Invoicing / Billing Manager and ideally have experience in the construction or engineering sectors.




You will have experience in leading, managing and developing a small billing and administration team. You will have knowledge of IT systems and be PC literate including good Microsoft Excel skills.

You should have inventory management experience.

You will have a high level of initiative, problem solving and decision making ability and will be someone who pays attention to the detail and highly organised.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Invoicing / Billing Manager looking for something different.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month’s service which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurance, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.

Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.

In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
