1360 - Claims Manager/Ass Group Risk Manager

Our Client and the Role:

Founded in 1957, our client has over 50 years of experience developing and operating customized supply chain and associated service solutions in demanding environments.


Supported by a world-wide network of resources including state – of – the – art warehousing facilities, bulk fuel installations and real time freight tracking capabilities, our client provides workable resolutions to complex client requirements in the areas of food logistics, catering, retail, aviation, transport and warehousing, camp services and fuel management.
They are currently seeking a Claims Manager / Assistant Group Risk Manager to be part of their Legal Department based at their Regional Operations Centre in Dubai.
Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management, reporting, and handling of all of our clients insurance claims including all Defense Base Act claims.
Specifically you will be responsible for maintaining clear and effective claims reporting policies and procedures, liaising with the Corporate HR Department.
You will provide ongoing education on claims reporting to our clients HR and Field Managers.
You will manage all insurance claims within our clients business and act as our clients POC.
You will manage reporting of all Defense Base Act claims to our clients Broker and Insurance Carrier.
You will be responsible for the development of claims details/claimant information and reporting on a timely basis.
You will manage quarterly claims reviews with the Broker and Insurance Carrier to ensure that claims are being handled in accordance with established guidelines.
You will manage monthly claims reports to provide to Senior Management and will track claims costs and associated claims expense and reporting of same to Senior Management for all claims, both insured and non insured.
You will set up and maintain individual claim files until the claim is closed and will work with the Insurance Broker and Claims Adjuster to bring claims to a satisfactory close as quickly as possible.
You will conduct quarterly claims reviews with insurance adjusters to monitor claims reserves, claims costs and adequate claims closing procedures.
You will liaise with our clients Legal Counsel to ensure qualified claims are filed for reimbursement from the US Government.
You will manage and co-ordinate all claims reporting where our client is a sub-contractor and will provide and co-ordinate quarterly payroll reporting for all US Government contracts.
You will work closely with the Group Risk Manager in obtaining underwriting data for all of our clients insurance coverage’s/renewals and will provide full support and service in the absence of the Group Risk Manager.
Finally you will maintain effective working relationships with the Insurance Broker, Insurance Company Adjusters, Department of Labour, and Third Party Administrators through frequent travel to the US and other locations on an as needed basis.




Job Requirements:


Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will be an accomplished Claims Manager ideally having some experience of managing claims in a large international company.

You should have in-depth knowledge of claims reporting requirements by the Department of Labour.

You should have an excellent knowledge of how to read and review online claims reports for all DBA claims.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner, work to tight deadlines and pay attention to the detail.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate particularly MS Office with advanced spreadsheet proficiency.

The basic salary is paid in AED (Dirhams) and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus earning opportunity which is also paid in AED and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition you will receive 25 days holiday plus public holidays, medical / health insurance and 1 paid return family economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client. A Relocation Allowance of USD 4,500 is available. A lap top and mobile phone are provided for company business.
