PROGRAM BACKGROUND
International Medical Corps is working to facilitate the development of an improved child protection system under the Ministry of Social Affairs in Libya and to establish a cadre of social workers to provide social welfare services to vulnerable groups at risk of or exposed to violence.

JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Child protection consultant will be to assist in the development of a national child protection curriculum for social workers working in the Libyan Ministry of Social Affairs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend consultative meetings with the Ministry of Social Affairs and other stakeholders throughout Libya to develop national curriculum.

Facilitate the approval of the National Curriculum with evaluation by Technical Review Panel.

Topics in be included in the curriculum may include:
• Child protection guiding principles
• Social work roles and responsibilities
• Working with children, families, and communities
• Case intake/ assessment
• Social work ethics
• Communication skills
• Referral/ linking
• Advocacy

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, etc.
• Experience: 5+ years work experience in child protection systems development.
• Languages: Fluency in oral and written English, Arabic preferred.
• Computer skills: Proficiency in current office software applications
• Personal qualities include a sense of initiative, self-confidence and Commitment to humanitarian issues.

LANGUAGES

• Ability to speak Arabic preferred
