ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Program Manager will:

• Provide oversight and technical guidance for the provision of intensive case management and mental health services for refugees integrated with services of local partner organization

• Develop and adapt case management and mental health training materials and curriculum

• Provide oversight and technical support for coordinated services including establishing pathways of care and referral mechanisms, defining work roles and responsibilities, and monitoring service provision activities and outcomes

• Build capacity of staff from partner organization (social workers, psychologists, health educators, community volunteers) for mental health and psychosocial activities according to their role, including skills based training and continued on-the job supervision, group supervision, and multi-disciplinary team meetings

• Ensure that training and skills building covers essential roles of intensive case management (e.g. comprehensive assessment, care plan development and implementation, goal setting, monitoring, working/liaising effectively with other service providers and follow-up) and basic mental health (e.g. comprehensive assessment, identification of MH problems, diagnostic skills, basic psychosocial support, brief evidence based interventions for common mental disorders

• Provide guidance and oversight for the design and implementation of psychosocial community activities and services based on principles of participation and ownership of the local refugee community

• Develop, implement, and monitor criteria and standards for the integration of case management and mental health into existing services and facilitate the collection and analysis of data on activities and outcomes in coordination with the national M&E consultant and IMC HQ

In reporting, the candidate will:

• Monitor and report on the work to demonstrate the extent to which the mental health and psychosocial indicators listed in the proposal are being met
• Submit regular reports to the Country Director
• Coordinate project monitoring and evaluation activities, with attention to record of lessons learned through evidence-based practice for the purpose of project replication or expansion
• Assist in the preparation of program reports and external publications

In general, the candidate will:

• Ensure that all work activities are in keeping with the IASC guidelines for mental health and psychosocial support and work to promote these guidelines where possible
• Work closely with main stakeholders and agencies such as government agencies, WHO and other national and international NGOs to ensure that mental health and psychosocial programming is coordinated and in line with national efforts
• Participate regularly in relevant meetings and working groups

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
In Case Management and Mental Health Training:

• The qualified candidate will be a mental health or social work professional (e.g. PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Masters Level Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker) with 3+ years of experience in client service provision

• 1+ years experience of oversight and management of mental health and/or case management programs

• Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings

• Experience in training others in mental health and/or psychosocial support

• Very strong organizational and supervisory skills

• Ability to write comprehensive reports and to organize and present data


OTHER INFORMATION

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within different cultural environments, honest, hard working and a self-motivated

• Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources

• A good command of verbal and written English and Turkish; knowledge of Farsi an asset

• This position is open to Turkish Nationals or Foreign nationals who possess valid Turkish residency and work permits
