PROGRAM BACKGROUND
IMC intends to apply for AusAID’s Civil Society Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Fund to scale-up programs in Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Kenya. The program will last for four years after an initial four-month inception phase. IMC is looking for a dedicated and experienced WASH Program Manager to oversee the project.
SCOPE OF WORK
The WASH Program Manager will oversee the design and implementation of IMC’s AusAID program (in the event that IMC is selected to implement this program). The program will comprised of four separate in-country projects, each dealing with water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion. He or she will be responsible for assisting in the design of the program, monitoring of the program, liaison with local partners, representing IMC to AusAID, developing reports for AusAID, documenting and disseminating lessons learned and advising the in-country staff on technical and implementation issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree required; Masters Degree preferred, in engineering, hydrology, environmental health or related subject.
• At least 10 years of experience implementing development or humanitarian programs in recourse-scarce settings.
• At least 5 years of experience with and in-depth knowledge of water supply, sanitation, vector control and hygiene promotion.
• Experience in a role involving oversight and technical advisory duties for a WASH program in multiple countries.
• Strong coordination, project planning, and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, especially MS Word and Excel.
• English fluency required.
