Responsible for operating, maintaining, calibrating and repairing equipment associated with a Telemetry Ground Station to include measurement/tracking, multiplexing, amplification, signal conditioning, multicouplers, acquisition, RF transmitters/receivers, PCM encoders/decoders and parabolic antenna systems.
Provides technical support in matters related to computer hardware, software, networking, and maintenance for site telemetry systems and related equipment and operations.
Integrates hardware and software applications for operational and maintenance applications.
Performs routine launch operational checks and functions based on standard operating procedures
Generates/prepares test documentation, maintains records, maintenance logs and schedules.
Interprets audits/findings, identifies maintenance issues and works with management to determine best course of action.
Supports company safety culture and assumes accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all activities.
Requires an AS degree in Electronics or technical school or equivalent military training.
Seven or more years of electronic technician
Good understanding of telemetry principles and practices; electronic background and knowledge of network/server operating systems and PC platforms.
Experience in using electrical/electronic test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzer, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to effectively troubleshoot, isolate and repair electronic hardware and associated support equipment.
Establish, foster and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers and foreign national s to gain their trust and respect.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Position requires working at heights and confined spaces.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
Travel, shift work and frequent overtime is required.
May entail periods of standing, kneeling and or repeated stooping.
Valid US drivers license and US passport is required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization.
This position is located on Antigua Island, a remote overseas location without family accommodations.
