International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a public health nutritionist to work potentially work on IMC’s Haiti Nutrition Program, pending funding. The Nutritionist will supervise the supplementation, GMP, Care Groups, PD/Hearth and other related activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and manage the supplementation, GMP, Care Group, PD/Hearth and other SBC components
Coordinate and link the agriculture and WASH components of the project
Coordinate with and link the nutrition activities to the maternal and child health components of the project with special attention for referrals and synergies between components and with existing community-based management of acute malnutrition programs
Train national staff to implement the program
Build capacity of Haitian health staff and/or local community to eventually take on the entire management of the program.
Ensure efficiency and results-oriented performance in the program
Develop and implement a capacity building plan on the Care Group and PD/Hearth components, ENA, IYCF, and other SBC activities
Liaise with and work through the Ministry of Health to build their capacity in the Care Group and PD/Hearth approaches, as well as community GMP to ensure sustainability
Liaise with the Ministry of Health to ensure supplementation activities remain in line with Haitian policy and regulations and that the Ministry of Health assumes ownership of the activities. Provide necessary TA.
Document all processes and outputs of capacity building, coordination and management of activities to ensure a experiences and lessons are well documented for future reference
Prepare an M&E plan and provide weekly and monthly progress updates to his/her reporting office(s). Submit quarterly, mid-term and final technical reports as may be required by the project documents and in a timely manner
Work with nutrition team on developing and conducting surveys and evaluations as needed. This could include knowledge, attitudes and practices, SMART, dietary diversity, and other surveys

Job Requirements:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1. Master’s degree in nutrition or MPH public health nutrition, nutrition or medical anthropology, or behavior change and 5 + years of relevant work experience (minimum 3 years in developing country) or Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and 7+ years of relevant work experience (minimum 5 years in developing country)
2. Solid SBC experience; Care Group and PD/Hearth experience preferred
3. Working in chronic underdevelopment settings where both acute malnutrition and stunting are significant issues of public health concern
4. Very strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to take the initiative
5. Knowledgeable about latest development best practices relating to nutrition such as the latest WHO changes relating to child growth standards, 1000 Days approach and latest SBC techniques and tools and acute malnutrition
6. Possess proven analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively
8. Ability to work in hardship conditions and in conflict-prone areas; ability to be flexible
9. Project startup experience preferred

Excellent oral and written communication; good computer skills, strong writing skills in English and French. Creole strongly preferred.
