JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for day-to-day operations of Finance Department. Provides technical and administrative supervision to general accounting, payroll, billing and accounts payable personnel; oversees preparation of required tax reports including state registrations; maintain integrity of financial reporting systems; and provide analytical support regarding financial statements and general ledger.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and import the entries necessary to record expatriate staff payroll and related expenses, including war risk allocation, general and health insurance allocations, vacation accrual, and pension accrual, in support of the financial reporting process.
• Perform the semi-monthly corporate allocations process and ensure expenses are accurately and timely allocated in accordance with established guidelines and by the specified deadline. Verify the allowability of all amounts allocated to the grants.
• Coordinate with HR and Split office to collect the appropriate supporting documentation, and prepare the monthly journal entry to record donated services and related war risk expense for volunteers.
• Process payroll wire transfers as necessary, including the monthly salary wire transfers. Liaise with Payroll to ensure the correctness of the employees’ salary and wire instructions.
• Reconcile the employee payables and employee wires payable cash and related liability accounts, monthly.
• Assist the Accounting Manager in reconciling the Payroll bank account by providing the necessary field-related support as needed.
• Perform various balance sheet and income statement analysis and reconciliation of accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, and prepare the supporting schedules to be reviewed by the internal and external auditors.
• Assist the Split office in facilitating donor audits at the field level, by providing the necessary supporting documentations requested by the auditors.
• Coordinate with Split office and Payroll to reconcile and clear expatriate staff employee receivables balances on an ongoing basis.
• Perform the monthly Raisers Edge to general ledger reconciliation for all classes of donations.
• Advise the Payroll department of the monthly amounts to be deducted from expatriate staff salary for dependent medical and dental coverage.
• Maintain updated and accurate balances of salaries payable to expatriate employees from the wire and holding accounts.
• Address all field payroll-related queries.
• Handle confidential information with the highest degree of integrity.
• Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors

• PC literate, excellent word processing skills. Proficient in Excel, Word, and other general experience with software programs.

LANGUAGES
• Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret in the English language.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government and rebel leaders and other related regional players
• French fluency required
