Job Description:

Our client is the remote site and facilities management subsidiary of a Group whose operations span three continents and are a diversified retail and distribution and contract services and supply group, supported by a world-class integrated logistics capability.
They specialise in the wholesale, distribution and retail of food and beverages, and represents a leading portfolio of global household name brands.
Their remote site and facilities management subsidiary of caters to industries as diverse as NGOs, Mining, Infrastructure, and Oil and Gas, with a focus on temporary structures, facilities management and food and hospitality services in both onshore and offshore sectors.
They are currently seeking an Arabic speaking HSE Manager to be based in North Sudan, Africa. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will act as the internal contact for management and staff when dealing with health and safety incidents or issues and will be responsible for building a strong structural health and safety environment for the company and its employees across all operations in Sudan and South Sudan.
Specifically you will develop and implement the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) programme in line with the overall company strategy, industry best practices and local regulatory requirements as specified by the Government.
You will develop and implement where required detailed documentation on processes, policies and procedures as part of the HSEQ programme development and update as and when necessary.
You will assist the Country Manager in preparing an annual HSE operating plan and budget.
You will co-ordinate with HR to develop, plan and implement suitable HSE training and HACCP programme across all levels.
You will investigate all incidents to identify root causes so that appropriate corrective actions and prevention actions (CAPA) are taken.
You will control, maintain, improve and disseminate company HSE policies and procedures manuals.
You will assist in aspects of environmental management.
You will ensure that the Culture and Value programme is understood and the same is communicated to all staff to enable them to live up to all the values at all times.
You will follow all applicable policies and procedures required for the successful execution of the job.
You will follow the IMS policy and meet the requirements of the organizations Integrated Management System which is compliant to international standards for Quality ( ISO 9001), Food Safety ( ISO 22000) Occupational Health and Safety
(OHSAS 18001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 1400).
You will be an accomplished Arabic speaking HSE professional with your practical experience supported by a Degree or Diploma, from an accredited Health, Safety, Environmental Services institution.
You will ideally have experience in a catering / facilities management environment.
You should be familiar with ISO-9001 compliance and certification process design experience.
You will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication and presentation skills and have prior experience in leading, coaching, and developing staff and the ability to impart knowledge, delegate, train and empower the in- country team.
You will have the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement systems, policies and procedures.
You will have a commitment to innovation and executing best practices with continuous improvement process competence.
You will have strong ability to organize, analyse, interpret and take sustainable corrective action.
You will have a passion for influencing culture, training and taking a hands-on approach to influencing our clients business and building on the strong safety commitment and culture.
You should be flexible with excellent leadership, communication and technical skills and who is prepared to adapt to very challenging environment.
Experience of working for a leading international facilities management provider would be ideal, as would experience of working in post conflict areas, remote sites or in other arduous environments.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and Arabic and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate particularly with MS office.
