Job Description:

We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in New Zealand.
They are currently seeking Fork Lift Truck Mechanics to perform a full range of mechanical duties on a wide range of Hyster equipment/Fork Lifts.
You will be responsible for contributing to the preparation and update of the daily job schedule.
You will complete each job within the specified job requirements and standard repair procedures, including time and cost constraints and completion deadlines.
You will carry out all work to a high standard, minimise rework by inspecting each completed job as far as practicable before release to customers
You will complete time cards, service reports, parts requisitions and returns and expense reimbursements for all service jobs accurately and on time.
You will carry out activities efficiently with minimum lost time between jobs.
You will advise the Lead Hand/Service Supervisor of any potential problems, delays or variances.
You will be attending to customer complaints in a timely manner, investigating the cause and co-ordinate any necessary training to ensure no recurrence.
You will be dealing directly with internal customers in matters relating to the department.
You will ensure customer satisfaction through communication, problem solving, maintaining and improving customer service.
You will be responsible for diagnosis and repair requirements / machine condition / job progress / availability.
You will be advising the customer in conjunction with the Lead Hand/Service Supervisor of all changes / additions / requirements to the work scope or estimated costs.
You will be referring to the Lead Hand/Service Supervisor any queries and complaints that cannot be answered to the customer's satisfaction.
You will actively contribute to the team performance by supporting other team members through sharing knowledge, skill and technical advice.
You will assist with apprentice supervision by monitoring performance and providing feedback to the Lead Hand/Service Supervisor.
You will communicate promptly and accurately with Lead Hand/Service Supervisor and other staff regarding the daily activities of the department.
You will report incidents (including serious harm) and complete documentation according to the Health & Safety procedure.
You will ensure that hazards are reported to either area Health & Safety Rep or Health & Safety Manager. Participation in any rehabilitation that is required.
You will make quality an integral part of all work practice by ensuring that high quality work is an objective which all employees consider to be paramount. "Done right, done well, done once".
You will be an accomplished Fork Lift Truck Mechanic.
You will have a Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in automotive and some previous experience servicing and/or repairing Forklifts.
You will ideally have previous experience working on Hyster equipment.
You will have the ability to work autonomously, with self-management and prioritising skills.
You will have knowledge of the Health and Safety requirements.
You will be highly customer focused and have the ability to work alongside team members and internal and external customers to accomplish tasks required.
You should be physically fit and hold a Driving Licence.
You will clearly define key result areas and effectively achieves the desired results. You will critically analyse situations, establishes and works to deadlines and performance standards, and continually monitors progress in all key result areas.
You will communicate effectively and convincingly to influence others, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions.

Finally, you will be able to identify the causes of problems, identify issues, seek relevant information or facts and make consistent, accurate and timely decisions based on thorough analysis.
Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e. visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their own accommodation.
The end client will assist candidates secure temporary accommodation for the first few weeks after they arrive and will also assist getting bank accounts and tax numbers set up.
