We are working with an associate recruitment company
who has offices in New Zealand. They are
currently seeking Truck Drivers with HIAB to work on earthquake reconstruction
projects in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The projects will be connected with the rebuild of Christchurch city following the
earthquake last year. The rebuild of Christchurch city is scheduled to offer
employment opportunities for the next 8 to 10 years.
Work will involve driving materials to construction sites in
Christchurch for Rigid Truck Drivers with HIAB Crane.
Work for artic drivers will involve collecting and delivering loads from
the ports and operating long haul routes between the North and South Islands.
Working in the distribution centres of these logistics firms loading and
unloading vehicles.
These positions are offered initially on a 6 month
contract. Thereafter new contracts can be offered and if you wish to stay in
New Zealand, the end client will offer sponsorship.
Knowledge and Skills:
You
should be a professional Driver as a Rigid Truck Driver with HIAB experience.
Experience
of operating a Fork Lift Truck is beneficial.
You should
have a good knowledge of site safety procedures and practices.
You should be
able to learn new procedures and techniques as applicable to New Zealand standards.
You should be
able to work independently and unsupervised and within a team environment.
You will have
clear communication skills and must be able to listen closely to instructions
and respond effectively.
You must be physically fit.
You should possess a Drivers Licence.
Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have
a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or
alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.
If successful, candidates will have to pay their own costs of getting across to
New Zealand i.e. visa £85, flights
approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for their own accommodation.
Salary will be paid in New Zealand Dollars and will be in a range of 19 - 22 New
Zealand Dollars per hour. Opportunities for promotion are excellent.
The end client will assist candidates secure temporary accommodation for the first
few weeks after they arrive and will also assist getting bank accounts and tax
numbers set up.
