Job Description:

We are working with an associate recruitment company who has offices in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Dublin who have a client who is a designer and fabricator of stainless steel and associated equipment for the industrial, dairy, processing, domestic and commercial sectors.
The role is specifically involved in the design and manufacture of high spec machinery for the food industry.
They are looking for a Fitter and Turner Machine Assembler with a strong mechanical aptitude to join their client's team based in Christchurch., New Zealand.
The position is permanent.
You should be an accomplished Fitter and Turner and your work experience ideally supported by an appropriate engineering qualification.
You will ideally have worked in a meat processing or food machinery company and our client will not consider anyone who has not worked directly in a food processing or food manufacturing company.
You will have sound experience in machine assembly work and able to interpret assembly specification manuals and planning assembly operations.
You will have a passion for machining work with high variability.
You should have experience of fastening and installing fixtures and wiring of electrical components to form assemblies/ sub-assemblies.
Experience of TIG welding is desirable.
You will have a strong work ethic with an eye for quality control.
You should be able to work independently and unsupervised and within a team environment.
You will have clear communication skills and must be able to listen closely to instructions and respond effectively.
You should possess a Drivers Licence.
Candidates other than from New Zealand must be available to travel on a working holiday visa and have a minimum of 6 months unexpired time on an existing working holiday visa or alternatively able to gain a working holiday visa to New Zealand.
If successful, you will have to pay your own costs of getting across to New Zealand i.e. visa £85, flights approx. £800, possibly cheaper and also pay for your own accommodation.
Salary will be paid in New Zealand Dollars and will be around 25- 28 New Zealand Dollars per hour depending upon experience.
The end client will assist candidates secure temporary accommodation for the first few weeks after they arrive and will also assist getting bank accounts and tax numbers set up.
