Job Description:

Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt.
They are currently seeking a Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Foreman to be based at the North Camp located in the North of the Sinai close to the Mediterranean coast. This is an 18 month contract position initially and then renewable for an additional 18 months.
Reporting into the North Camp Force Vehicle Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will assist them in the day to day management of the commercial vehicle workshop based at the North Camp. You will work alongside and manage a team of Vehicle Technicians most of whom are Egyptian nationals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the assigned light duty vehicle maintenance program and conduct vehicle recovery missions in support of the end clients Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) within their field of competence.
You will ensure maintenance operations under your responsibility are carried out in strict accordance with our clients and their end clients current safety rules and operating procedures and also in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing the quality of maintenance operations carried out on site.
You will also be responsible for guaranteeing a good level of availability of the equipment or special tooling responsible for production.
You will assist the Planning Team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in your discipline.
You will report daily directly to the designated VMF Manager/Supervisor.
You will ensure that the Company, Customer and Site Regulations and Policies are adhered to and respected, as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under your responsibility.
You will monitor and maintain equipment and special tooling placed under your responsibility to include upkeep of Company/Site vehicles.
You will ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring to the Egyptian workforce occurs properly within your team, and you will actively supervise tasks being performed. You will train and direct subordinate Egyptian National staff in applicable areas of performance in accordance with Generally Accepted Industry and Professional Standards and the approved On-Job- Training Program.
You will maintain accurate records of all work accomplished, in work, and future tasks. You will ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.
You will order materials for service and repair jobs within framework of work orders.
Finally you will be required to be on 24 hour "on call" duties to provide immediate customer support.
To meet this unique challenge you will be an accomplished commercial Vehicle Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
Ideally this will include a combination of general light duty vehicle repairs preferably within a military or commercial workshop environment. Light duty vehicle class experience essential.
Your experience should ideally be supported by an automotive engineering qualification i.e. UK City & Guilds, US Craft (Journeyman) or equivalent.
You will have the necessary knowledge and skills to reflect the technology utilised in light vehicle class engines and be familiar with fleet management systems and standard computer software packages. Experience of SAP is highly desirable.
With good analytical skills, you should have an eye for detail and a desire to achieve engineering excellence.
You should be experienced in quality inspections with excellent organization skills and the capable of working in fast paced, changing priority work environment.
You must be results oriented and focused on outcome.
Good computer skills are a must; utilizing excel, word, Microsoft; and excellent communication and leadership skills. You must be able to work without supervision
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals. You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should possess a valid Heavy Gods Drivers Licence from your home country.
The basic salary is paid in the currency of your citizenship and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
