Our client is part of a much larger Group and is a provider of construction, management and supply of labour camps for the oil and gas, mining, construction, humanitarian and post conflict sectors.
They are currently seeking an Arabic Speaking Country Manager to manage their operations in Libya.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the management and operations of our clients business in what is a new area of for our client.
Specifically you will apply and follow the contractual obligations, our clients policies and procedures, all ISO standards and requirements and QHSE policies and rules set by the company and to continually support the same to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within the following areas: Performance; Administration and Finance; Human Resources; Customer & Client Relations; Partner relations; Operations; Management control; Budgets; Business Development and Tender/ Bid document elaboration; Contracts administration/management and the Marketing plan.
You will identify, develop and direct the implementation of business strategy.
You will plan and direct the organizations activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence.
You will maintain and develop the organizational culture, values and reputation of the company with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies.
You will work with and report to the Group CEO on organizational plans and performance.
You will execute the responsibilities of General Manager according to lawful and ethical standards.
You will have overall management responsibility of the business - guaranteeing company financial performance which includes specific responsibilities for the overall management, of matters relating to financial; commercial; administration; operational; procedural and contract authority for the Company.
You will deliver safe and profitable company operations being responsible for the P&L and Budget Delivery.
You will ensure that the finances are responsibly and rigorously managed and reported and that an effective risk management system is in place.
You will implement policy changes.
You will ensure compliance with applicable local, national, industry, client and joint venture health, safety and environment (HSE) laws, regulations, procedures, processes, and management systems including statutory requirements.
You will carry out the recruiting, managing and supervising of staff efficiently and effectively to successfully carry out your responsibilities.
You will oversee the development of human resources.
You will ensure strong and supportive relationships are built and maintained with the various partners, clients and stakeholders.
You will provide the operational leadership in maintaining a productive, cost-effective, safe and legal workplace.
You will ensure the National Content requirements are fulfilled with all stakeholders.
You will ensure the Company acts as a Good Corporate Citizen.
You will be responsible for developing new revenue streams on both existing and new contracts.
You will supervise tenders/bid documentation to obtain new contracts and retain existing ones.
You will effectively represent and promote the company at public and industry events and functions and in the media - Act as the Official spokesman.
You will execute any other task to ensure the success of the business and organizational responsibilities with a view to improving profitability.
Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will be an accomplished Arabic speaking Country Manager / Logistics Manager / Camp Services Manager / Facilities Manager and will have a proven track record in contract catering or facilities management sectors ideally in the Middle East and internationally.
Experience of operations in Government, Oil and Gas, Mining and Extraction Industries is highly desirable.
Your practical experience should be supported by a Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management.
You will have a good knowledge of remote site management and your operational experience should have included responsibility for multi-site catering, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance. You should have experience of logistics, supply chain, food supply and facilities management.
Ideally your experience will have included managing budgetary and cost control management.
You should have previously managed multi-site support functions such as HR, Finance, Supply Chain, QHSE, Operations etc.
You will have strong entrepreneurial flair, good commercial and financial acumen, be achievement oriented and have strong leadership skills able to create team effectiveness.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and Arabic and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
