Job Description:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
• To manage a caseload across two teams covering the South Staffordshire area
• To carry out comprehensive functional Occupational Therapy assessments in a timely and
efficient manner as requested by the Clinician
• To assist Clinicians with recommendations for families in relation to their child’s
occupational therapy needs and sensory difficulties
• To identify child-centred goals for the child, their families and their education provider
• To provide consultation, advice and support to other professionals and families referred to
the service
• To liaise with and refer to other agencies as necessary
• To assess and manage risk effectively
• To support the service with the development and delivery of training
• To provide supervision of other members of the team as appropriate
• Demonstrate and maintain own competency to practice through Continuous Professional
Development (CPD), and maintain a professional portfolio in accordance with guidelines
from the College of Occupational Therapy which is required for professional registration

Job Requirements:

BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
Knowledge and Experience
• A relevant and recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Previous experience of working with children who have a diagnosis of autism
• Previous experience of carrying out detailed Occupational Therapy assessments
• Previous experience and knowledge of working with children with sensory needs
(qualification desirable)
• Research experience and practice
• Teaching and training experience
