The Florence Assistant Site Director (ASD) is a full-time contracted position responsible for assisting with CISabroad programming and operations in Florence, Italy. A few of the ASD’s primary responsibilities include: overseeing logistics, program development, partner/university relations, and student support services and operations for CISabroad and sister-company programs in Florence. The ASD will work with permanent CISabroad staff in Italy to ensure that the company is delivering safe, consistent, and high value programs that are in line with the values and the mission of the organization. This individual must be legally able to work in Italy and must live in or near Florence, with the ability to remain on-call when students are in the region. This position reports to both the Site Director for Florence and the Country Director for Italy.

--Student Support
o Develop and implement an on site student engagement strategy
o Remain in close contact with students throughout their program
o Maximize the student experience
o Help to remedy any issues should they arise
o Help manage housing
o Assist with CISabroad needs elsewhere in Italy, as necessary

--Assist Site Director (SD) with Health and Safety
o Mitigate/manage risks in the local environment, including potential issues on program excursions
o Establish and follow local safety and emergency protocol
o Communicate current and reliable information concerning health and safety to program participants and CISabroad Staff
o Liaise w/Rome Site Director to coordinate the CISabroad Italy 24/7 Emergency Phone rotation schedule
o Be available as a 24 hour contact, reachable by mobile phone when program participants, visitors, custom programs, and/or faculty-led programs are in need of urgent services
o Participate in the CISabroad Italy 24/7 emergency phone rotation
o Work closely with local resources, US-based Program Coordinators and/or emergency response team as problems or emergencies happen on site
o Enforce the CISabroad code of conduct when appropriate
o Maintain close communication with CISabroad’s partners in Florence so that communication flows both ways when there are issues on the program

--Program Development/Maintenance
o Collaborate with US office to coordinate local/regional activities and accompany program participants on these activities
o Assist SD in managing additional staff in Florence to provide the best possible student support
o Lead the continuous improvement of all aspects of programming in Florence including maintaining existing relationships with current Florence partners
o Provide suggestions to the CISabroad Programs Team for program delivery that will improve the student experience and/or bring the CISabroad student experience more in line with the mission and values of the organization

--Marketing and Promotion
o Assist in updating and keeping accurate and compelling website content
o Represent the CISabroad brand onsite and share engaging program content on various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, etc.
o Assist SD to ensure that the CIS Abroad program is favorably presented when US partners are visiting the site to ensure that the program is favorably presented; help to coordinate these site visits
o Help to ensure that any visitor to CISabroad’s programs would learn about what makes the CISabroad experience in Florence different

--Financial Management
o Manage ongoing operational budget for all Florence Operations including the budget that is delegated to the Assistant Site Director
o Manage finances and submit monthly expense reports to supervisor
o Plan and anticipate ongoing financial needs for CISabroad in Florence
o Make recommendations for program inclusions, which include budget changes, well ahead of time so that budgets are set prior to student enrollment

--Customized Faculty Led Support
o As required, provide logistical, onsite and emergency support for CISabroad’s faculty-led programs in Florence and surrounding regions

o Train local staff as needed and approved by CISabroad
o Assist with managing seasonal staff including but not limited to training, motivation, and performance management
o Conduct regular performance reviews of staff in consultation with Director of Programs
o Provide feedback on performance of staff to CISabroad Director of Programs

--Internship Program
o Assist SD with on site orientation for interns
o Assist SD with program delivery including weekly/monthly check in meetings with interns
o Assist SD with interviews and researches for the Rome and Florence internship programs

o Contractor agrees to check emails regularly – and agrees to respond to emails within 24 hours to acknowledge receipt, even if an answer is not immediately available.
o Contractor must be available by telephone throughout working hours and check voicemails regularly when this is not possible.

**The Contractor's duties may be reasonably modified at the Company’s discretion from time to time.

o Fluent in Italian
o Excellent computer skills
o Bachelor’s Degree
o Experience working with international students, preferably US university students in the field of International Education
o Legal ability to work in Italy
o Be available for a mandatory remote training before getting on site
o Must be willing to undergo background check
o Must have a positive attitude

o Good video editing and photography skills
o Outgoing, flexible, reliable, honest with an open mind
o Comfortable working with tight deadlines in non-traditional office settings
