Associate Manager, Category Analytics

Job Summary This position will be a critical business partner. The goal is primarily to improve overall Customer experience across all of our categories / LOBs. The goal of this role is to manage a team that supports category management teams in a variety of areas that will be important to the success of the team and the organization. The primary function of this role is to become the key point of contact with the US Analytics team, and to become a strategic thought partner with the same US team. Job Description Experience Required: 9 years of experience in analytics/insights with end-to-end understanding of quantitative studies (design, survey, analyze, report, recommend) Experience Desired: 5 years in retail Education Desired: Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, MBA Job Responsibilities Serve as the key strategic point of contact with the US based Merch Analytics team Gain an in-depth understanding of Giant Eagle’s operations and business processes, and provide strategic insights on how to improve them Serve as the steward of the business process, ensuring adherence to procedures and work instructions, and aid in the development and improvement of those documents Lead a team of analysts in support of the Giant Eagle Merchandising team Interpret data, analytics, and financial plans and participate in decision making in partnership with US counterparts. Build and maintain in-depth knowledge on customer behavior, market trends, and price and promotions for assigned categories, including Giant Eagle and competitive market Lead and execute key projects as needed, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables Ensure productivity and efficiency of the team by setting goals that meet the needs of the business Lead, ideate, contribute to and ensure delivery and perfect execution of customer demographics / category behavior and associated projects through effectively recommending strategies for merchants, identifying risks and opportunities and proactively calling out outliers Work with GE HQ to identify opportunities, leverage commonalities and ensure proactive solution build and delivery Establish and maintain operational, financial and business metrics About the Company Since our founding in 1931, Giant Eagle, Inc. has evolved into one of the top 40 largest private corporations in the U.
