Your team responsibilities MSCI, Inc. seeks Senior Associate, Equity Solutions Research in Toronto, Canada to perform financial research to provide investment solutions to institutional clients on topics related to asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management. The goal and responsibility of the individual will be to use financial research tools such as the MSCI Data Science Platform or other analytical tools and risk models to perform financial analysis to support the broader MSCI research agenda, build research narrative, and support senior research members in the Americas research team. Your key responsibilities • Use MSCI Data Science Platform and other analytical tools and risk models to conduct financial equity analysis. • Publish research content that advances the MSCI research agenda and build research narrative that can provide insights to institutional clients. • Deliver research on topics ranging from asset allocation, portfolio construction, benchmarking, factors, ESG & Climate, and thematic investing • Participate in client discussions and help solve their investment problems • Support senior research members in the Americas equity solutions research team Your skills and experience that will help you excel • Bachelor / graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or other highly quantitative subject. CFA is a plus. • Overall experience of 5-8 years, from which 3-5 years of experience is expected to be in quantitative investment research or as a data scientist / data engineer • Strong quantitative and technical background • Excellent programming skills, experience in the Python ecosystem. Experience in library development and API design is a plus • Basic understanding of the institutional investment process, portfolio construction, risk management, portfolio exposure analysis etc. is a must • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills How we’ll support you · Our culture of high performance and innovation relies on our people sharing their knowledge and lifting each other up.
