Job Description

Our client, a leading nonprofit is currently in search of a seasoned and adept Financial Modeling Analyst to join their dynamic project team on a remote basis for a 1-year contract. This position will concentrate on crafting intricate financial models to support diversified revenue streams and long-term strategizing within the Digital Research Infrastructure sector in Canada. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in financial modeling, a profound grasp of financial principles, and the capability to furnish actionable insights derived from sophisticated analyses. Key Responsibilities Financial Modeling: Lead the creation and upkeep of advanced financial models to bolster strategic ventures, investment choices, and business planning endeavors with diverse revenue streams. Scenario Analysis: Undertake scenario analysis to assess the repercussions of various business determinations, market circumstances, and economic factors on financial performance. Offer insights and recommendations stemming from the analysis to fortify decision-making and risk management. Model Costing: Scrutinize cost structures within the devised models to pinpoint different contribution options and the requisite revenue targets for each model. Transition Plan: Assist in formulating a plan to transition to a novel funding model, taking into account the current state, impact assessment of funding contribution alterations, and cost structures. Process Development: Create financial processes, methodologies, and tools to uphold efficiency, precision, and efficacy of new funding models. Remain updated on industry trends and emerging financial tools or methodologies to encourage innovation and adaptability. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments (finance, operations, and strategy) and external funding bodies (provincial governments, federal governments, and academic institutions) to solicit input and amass information to bolster transition planning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or CPA designation is advantageous. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, or similar roles, with a focus on infrastructure, information technology services, and crafting complex financial models. Proficiency in financial modeling techniques and tools, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial modeling software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, VBA, Python, R) is advantageous. Sound comprehension of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial performance metrics. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the proficiency to translate intricate data into actionable insights and recommendations. Strong interpersonal and communication proficiencies, with the capability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all echelons of the organization. Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced milieu. Meticulous attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
