The Impact You Will Make in this Role: As a MSSQL Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. This position is part of the Core Infrastructure Delivery Data Platform Delivery team. Under general direction by the Global DB Services Manager, they will participate in the daily management and administration of MSSQL databases. Key responsibilities include responding to incidents and changes, monitoring MSSQL activities and troubleshooting accordingly, and escalating critical issues to appropriate teams. This role requires technical and communication skills as well as a level of comfort working with diverse teams. Here, you will make an impact by: Helping modernize support of existing enterprise environments. Developing and supporting automation and tools to support database environments. Implementing high availability and disaster recovery strategy for critical data and Cloud DBs Installing and maintaining database server environments Participating in Agile Scrum teams Ensuring Compliance Controls are maintained to protect data. Assist in developing the future database vision for 3M. Creating support strategy for open source and cloud native DB technologies. Representing Database teams on cross-functional projects. Ensuring Compliance Controls are maintained to protect data. Work closely on High availability concepts clustering, always on and replication. Work as part of the Team to accomplish and oversee the daily support and planned project work. Ensure required commitments like DR Compliance and Auditing are completed properly. Your Skills and Expertise: To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution Minimum Five (5) years of IT professional experience Five (5) years of experience supporting Database Technologies MSSQL DBA on windows OS including stand-alone and HADR configurations in a private, public, government or military environment. Minimum (2) years experience with DB migrations to Cloud Environment (AWS Preferred, Azure) Minimum (2) years experience working experience working with High availability. Experience in scripting TSQL scripts. good to have Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Demonstrated ability to work on projects in a technical environment, emphasis on Agile methodology. Experience with migrating databases from lower versions to latest versions. Experience working in a large system environment, latest versions of SQL server and on customer-facing applications. Strong analytical and interpretation of data analysis skills Documentation and process flows. Knowledge on understanding the SP and views. Experience working with Databases supporting SAP systems preferred. Experience supporting High availability concepts clustering, always on and replication. Cross-functional IT expertise (applications, information security, networking) 3rd party backup utilities, i.e., Commvault Experience working in SSIS\SSRS configuration. Experience in performance monitoring tools e.g. sentry one. Willing to work in rotational shifts and to support on call on weekends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in scripting TSQL, PowerShell or shell. Advanced experience with DB Solutions on Amazon AWS (Preferred) and/or Microsoft Azure solutions Familiarity with encryption and data protection tools Work location: Bangalore Hybrid (2 days in week) Relocation Assistance: No Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
