Job Description

Description and details of activities Provide practical and technical knowledge in the machining shop, in the handling and operation of machine tools, preventive maintenance, repair of injection molds, dies, silicone molding, blow molding, fault diagnosis, in order to support the goals of the supply chain, safely, complying with the standards and regulations applicable to the medical industry. • Provide service and repair to tooling (disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and re-assembly) • Provide support in set-up and/or installation of molds or molding components at the start of production. • Address press stoppage problems to identify causes and resolve machine problems. • Machine new tools and spare parts. • Document and update the tool repair history and other work records. • Perform support and maintenance activities in the Toolroom and/or production area in a timely manner. Technical knowledge and Experience o 7 years of experience in preventive/corrective maintenance processes of plastic injection molds, extrusion dies, plastic blow cavities or other tools related to the production of medical components or related to the processes indicated above or a similar role. o Have confidence and experience in the handling of: o Fixtures and jigs o Bench fittings o Lathe o Milling o Welding (with TIG, laser, microwelding) o Erosion (EDM) o Polishing o Sharpening of burins and cutters o CNC (Milling, lathe, EDM, Wire EDM) o Have sufficient knowledge to interpret engineering drawings and tolerance charts. o Ability to perform trigonometric and algebraic calculations. o Ability to define feed rates, cutting speeds, tool entry angles. o Knowledge to machine to exact tolerances using one or more methods. o Ability to stand in front of plastic processing machinery to identify causes and resolve problems with minimum downtime. o Ability to draw preliminary sketches and layouts of work orders received without a drawing. o Knowledge and ability to measure directly (touch) and indirectly (optically) using the measuring instruments in a machine shop. o Possess a high school certificate and a completed technical degree in machining (machine tools). o Knowledge of different types of materials and coating and heat treatment processes. o Knowledge of the processes for packaging, shipping and disassembly of molds and plastic processing machinery • Ability to work with flexible hours • Able to work in small work teams • Be innovative and proactive in solving problems and adaptable • Desirable but not essential; and as additional experience, equipment repairs and machine tool maintenance service is an advantage.
