This vital role supports the Director of Property Services in delivering a range of compliance services, ensuring the council fully discharges its statutory duties, with a particular focus on building safety, including fire safety. Description Lead the compliance and building safety team to deliver high-quality, value-for-money services. Provide expert advice and guidance on building safety matters, particularly fire safety, to ensure the council meets its legal obligations. Oversee third-party contractors to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and council policies. Drive continuous improvement in building safety practices across the council's property portfolio. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of safety and compliance. Profile A strong leader with experience in building safety and compliance, ideally within the public or housing sector. Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational improvements. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly in relation to building safety and fire safety.
