Senior Python Developer

Role: Senior Python Developer Type: Contract (18 months, possible extension) Location: Edmonton or Calgary preferably but open to other parts of Canada Your New Company Join a leading investment management firm known for its innovative approach to finance and technology. Your New Role As a Senior Python Developer (Equity Markets), you will be at the forefront of developing, launching, and maintaining research tools and models that drive the Public Equities investment strategies. You will collaborate closely with the Systematic Equity Strategies team, translating business needs into technical requirements and delivering high-quality software solutions. Your role will involve leading the design and implementation of key features, conducting code reviews, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in all deliverables. What You'll Need to Succeed Educational Background : A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related field. Experience : At least 8 years of software development experience, with a strong understanding of software design principles, system design, algorithms, and data structures. Technical Skills : Extensive experience with Python, database design, and SQL. Industry Knowledge : A solid understanding of systematic investment strategies and equity research practices. Agile Methodology : Experience working in an Agile development environment. Leadership and Collaboration : Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and coordinate with other technology teams.
