Due to the growth of GNT we are seeking for our office in France a fulltime Application Laboratory Manager / Responsable Laboratoire d’Application (h/f/x) We are looking for a dedicated and innovative person to join our Application Laboratory in France. The position will play a crucial role in developing and testing Food & Beverage applications, ensuring sales opportunity growth and structuring the laboratory. This role involves collaborating closely with customers, R&D teams, and with internal departments in Europe (Application, Sales and Marketing). The role: Application Development Design and develop new food applications based on customer briefs, market trends, and ingredient functionality Optimize formulations to meet specific customer needs, including flavor, texture, nutritional requirements, and shelf life Conduct hands-on product trials and demonstrations in the laboratory and customer facilities Technical Support and Customer Collaboration Provide technical expertise to customers on ingredient functionality and application possibilities Sales training Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and presentations to showcase product applications Provide technical support on formulation or process challenges for customer projects Laboratory Testing and Analysis Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory analyses of products to ensure quality and performance Test and validate formulations for stability, process feasibility, and compliance with safety standards Maintain detailed records of experiments and test results for internal and external reporting Research and Innovation Stay updated on food industry trends, novel ingredients, and emerging technologies Contribute to the innovation pipeline by identifying new opportunities for application development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into formulations and processes. Compliance and Documentation Ensure alignment of all Application laboratory procedures within the group. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders Management, Collaboration and Training Management of the Laboratory including people management for our Application Technologist (one direct report) Work closely with global and local R&D teams to align on project goals and deliverables Train and guide junior staff or interns on laboratory procedures and technical knowledge About you, as our ideal candidate: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field 2–5 years of experience in food applications, product development, or technical support with an in-depth knowledge of food technology, ingredient functionality, processing technologies and food design First experience in a management position with direct reports Familiarity with application laboratories and customer-centric projects is highly valued Proficient in laboratory techniques for food analysis and application testing Strong understanding of European food regulations Proficient in English and French, both written and spoken Excellent problem-solving and project management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially for customer-facing interactions.
