Job Title: Motor Claims Engineer Location: Leicester or Bexhill (Hybrid) - Required to be in the office once every quarter. Role overview: We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dynamic Motor Engineer to join our growing market leading engineering department. You will be part of innovating team that delivers a great customer journey whilst focusing on controlling our indemnity spend, you will also be supporting all our teams within Hastings Direct on efficiently and making intelligent commercial decisions. Job details - you'll need to have demonstrable experience in: Being a dependable, vehicle and engineering subject matter expert, contributing where required to support colleagues and knowledge management material Reviewing all vehicle damage repair estimates presented consistently and in a timely manner Investigating and challenging repair estimates where appropriate, ensuring adequate cost control is in place whilst achieving the best customer and commercial outcomes Constructively supporting, investigating and challenging external engineering assessors Supporting, reviewing and undertaking appropriate audit actions on suppliers when required Helping to grow our Engineering capability through identifying opportunities to continuously improve skills, knowledge and processes Essential skills we would love you to have: Proven experience within the motor industry with either bodywork and/or mechanical knowledge Must have experience of using Audatex and Glassmatix estimating systems Strong IT skills (especially Microsoft packages) The interview process: Our interview process involves the below: Recruiter screening call 1st stage interview with hiring leader As a Disability Confident employer, we're committed to ensuring our recruitment processes are fully inclusive - what this means to you is if you're applying for a job with us, you'll have fair access to support and adjustments throughout your recruitment journey.
