Construction Estimator

Estimator - Construction Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) Location: Swansea (with occasional travel across South Wales) A well-established and growing construction company in South Wales is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its dynamic Pre-development Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a variety of high-quality residential and commercial projects across the region.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. This includes analysing project documents such as drawings, plans, and specifications to assess the cost of labour, materials, and equipment. You'll play a key role in supporting pre-construction planning and ensuring projects are financially viable from the outset.Key Responsibilities:Review project documentation to determine the scope of work, resource requirements, and cost factorsConduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and gather relevant dataPrepare detailed bills of quantities and cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor servicesCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather essential project informationMaintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricingAssist in the preparation of bid proposals and attend pre-bid meetingsKeep accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and relevant project documentationCarry out other duties relevant to the position as requiredKey Requirements:Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practicesExcellent numerical and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail and strong communication abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience using estimating software (e.g. Evaluate or similar)Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentA degree in a construction-related field is desirable but not essentialWhat's on Offer:Competitive salary between £55,000 and £70,000, dependent on experienceClear opportunities for career development and progressionA variety of exciting and high-end construction projects to work onSupportive and values-driven team cultureAccess to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme LI-PB1
