We're looking for a confident, capable Emergency Planning & Resilience Manager to help us bring those plans to life. You will form part of a small, dedicated team of Resilience professionals working to a Resilience framework and developing associated plans to ensure we can plan for, respond to, and recover from incidents and emergencies. You will drive preparedness efforts, ensuring we are "incident-ready" and able to respond swiftly and effectively to the situation at hand, ensuring the best outcomes for the communities we serve. We deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to homes and businesses. Every role, whether in the office or on the front line, plays a key part in this mission. Here’s how you will contribute… Develop and agree a workplan with business areas to ensure we're prepared to respond to and recover from Loss of Supply incidents, ensuring interoperability with Civil Contingencies requirements and legislation. Work as part of a small team to ensure the availability of expert, specialist and authoritative advice on all aspects of emergency planning and incident response across our networks, with a particular focus on Loss of Supply. Develop and deliver comprehensive training, testing and exercising programmes for colleagues at all levels to embed a resilience mindset; with specialist training for specific roles in incident response and all managers on-call. Work collaboratively with internal colleagues including Gas Control, Cyber Security and Business Continuity to stress-test arrangements and implement any improvements identified Ensure relationships and reputation amongst resilience partners, industry colleagues and stakeholders are nurtured and enhanced, highlighting opportunities for joint learning, testing and exercising Spearhead and drive preparedness and continuous improvement by conducting regular reviews and horizon scanning, ensuring we identify and learn lessons from all of the above activities. To undertake such other duties appropriate to the character of work as may reasonably be required, including working outside normal hours from time-to-time during incidents or emergencies and any on-call arrangements that may be implemented. Extensive experience in emergency planning, resilience or business continuity - ideally gained within a Category 1 or Category 2 responder agency OR Extensive Operational Gas experience Any Resilience-related qualifications and certifications would be an advantage Knowledge and experience of working under Civil Contingencies Act 2004, JESIP principles and other legislation (COMAH, MAHP etc) We’re also looking for; Experienced in engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders to drive outputs A tenacious attitude, excellent communication and strong leadership skills Demonstrable experience of training, testing and exercising (planning and delivery) Ability to drive organisational learning and the embedding of improvements SC Clearance or the ability to achieve this Why SGN?
