Senior Landscape Architect

Landscape architect required for working on large scale landscape projects including master planning as well as detail projects for Bengaluru airport city, a fully owned subsidiary of Bangalore international airport. Must work closely with Project Managers and internal urban planning and design team to review different landscape design options submitted by consultants and to refine selected designs across the project design cycle, including conceptual landscape designs, preliminary, final detailed designs and tender and review of GFC till it is executed on site as per design. Support data collection / review data from all concerned entities in collaboration with internal stake holders, external consultants, local teams etc on climate, meteorology, soil specifications / reports, water sources, local species, natural hazards, etc. Analyze collected data and identify main design constraints and key challenges, and periodically meet with internal design & external landscape consultants. Flag out snag points and ensure that the design is optimized. Also develop a data inventory system and archive necessary data to share with project team members, as needed as per the existing formats. Develop different landscape design options OR optimize the design for projects in collaboration with internal Urban Designers, Urban Planners, infra engineers & architects and co-ordinate with external stakeholders to ensure that the project is executed as per finalized design. Ensure that the selected design is reflected in the form of plans, sections, mood boards, perspectives, material boards, as appropriate. Have a thorough understanding of plant species, types, availability, local plants availability, growth zones ,etc. and ensure that samples are vetted by internal and external stakeholders. Have a though understanding and expertise in hardscape and softscape design. Must have prior experience in working on road, avenues, boulevards, etc apart from parcel landscape design. Support the development of comprehensive technical reports, detailing design concepts and soft scape components, irrigation systems, cost estimates, etc. from the consultants appointed. Assist in the refinement and design development of selected landscape design into preliminary and final detailed designs, in coordination with other design disciplines, including the development of required drawings and graphical materials, as needed Develop landscape tendering documents and closely work with the Quantity Surveying Department for the development of final specifications, landscape palettes, Bills of Quantities and Conditions of Contract Support the tender process, including responding to bid queries and evaluating bids, as required Provide technical assistance, as needed, during the supervision phase, including solving design conflicts, conducting site visits and reviewing shop drawings, in close coordination with local design support teams. Support Project Managers in validating design deliverable's with clients and authorities, as needed, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals Review and conduct design checks with Project and Design Landscape Architects Education qualification and certifications (Indicate the level of education and certifications required) Bachelor s Degree in Architecture / horticulture / landscape. Master’s in landscape architecture from a reputed organization. Landscape certifications. EXPERIENCE 10 -12 years of industry experience in landscape design working on large scale projects. Landscape portfolio of designed and built projects. SOFTWARE SKILLS BIM/Revit Experience highly recommended and valued during prequalification Excellent Leadership and Soft Skills Design Management, QA/QC & Value Engineering Advanced to Expert Level Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator & Acrobat Pro) English (Written & Verbal) skills
