Job Description
The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Private Cloud Presales Solution Architect to join our dynamic sales team. In this pivotal role, you will be the technical expert, responsible for understanding customer business needs and translating them into compelling private cloud solutions. You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to drive revenue growth and establish HCl Tech as a trusted advisor in the private cloud space. Responsibilities: Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for prospective customers, building strong relationships and understanding their business challenges, technical requirements, and desired outcomes related to private cloud adoption. Solution Design: Develop and present tailored private cloud solutions, including infrastructure (compute, storage, networking), virtualization, automation, security, and management components, that address customer needs and align with their strategic objectives. Proposal Development: Create and deliver high-quality technical proposals, presentations, and statements of work (SOWs) that clearly articulate the value proposition of our private cloud solutions. Technical Expertise: Maintain deep technical knowledge of various private cloud technologies, platforms (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, Nutanix), and related services. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (POCs): Lead and conduct compelling product demonstrations and manage technical proof-of-concept engagements to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our private cloud offerings. Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to develop account strategies, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback and contribute to solution development. RFP/RFI Response: Lead the technical response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring accurate and compelling answers to technical questions. Thought Leadership: Participate in industry events, webinars, and contribute to technical content (e.g., white papers, blog posts) to enhance HCL's reputation as a private cloud leader. Sales Enablement: Provide technical training and support to the sales team to enhance their understanding of our private cloud solutions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred. 10 years of experience in a presales or solution architect role, with a strong focus on private cloud technologies. Deep understanding of private cloud architectures, infrastructure components, virtualization technologies, storage solutions, networking principles, and security best practices. Hands-on experience with one or more leading private cloud platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, OpenStack, Nutanix AHV). Strong understanding of automation and orchestration tools relevant to private cloud environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to develop and deliver compelling technical proposals and presentations. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. [Desired Certifications - e.g., VCP, RHCSA, Nutanix Certified Professional]
