Application Engineer

About the Company The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical sales support to both external sources (consulting engineers, contractors and end users) and internal sources (regional managers, project management/ engineering, manufacturing and after-sales service) to obtain sales orders to meet set sales goals. About the Role Provide Applications Engineering support to channel partners, distributors and end users. Provide optimal design selections based on customer requirements. Estimate project costing and negotiate lead times. Collaborate with purchasing team and other stakeholders to obtain costing for components as required. Support maintenance of CRM funnel to ensure opportunity visibility by field sales team. Develop technical depth and understanding of Xylem products and applications. Support submittal development. Collaborate with other technical and engineering groups to provide the required customer solution. Proactively anticipate and mitigate risk. Provide timely responses to inquiries. Meet or exceed established SLA and required metrics. Be easy to do business with. Support timely order entry, deliverables and order status. One to five years related experience with rotating equipment preferred. Knowledge of pump hydraulics, mechanics and construction. Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills with strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
