Senior Testing Engineer - Manual/Automation Testing

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer with strong expertise in Automation Testing and proficiency in SQL and AccelQ to join our growing QA team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and ensuring the quality and reliability of enterprise applications. This is a hybrid role, where you will balance automation and manual testing, helping evolve testing processes to improve efficiency and quality. Over time, the focus will shift more towards automation as the project progresses. You will work closely with client development teams, collaborating to ensure that new features are thoroughly tested and meet high standards of quality. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in automation testing, functional testing, and working with SQL databases, alongside experience with the AccelQ automation tool. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and execute functional test cases for new features and enhancements, following established test plans and requirements - Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using AccelQ automation tool, adhering to the specifications provided by the client - Write manual test cases when required, especially during early phases of the project, with a gradual transition to full automation as needed - Follow the established defect reporting process, ensuring that all identified issues are reported, tracked, and resolved effectively - Ensure that test cases cover all edge cases and the functionality is validated thoroughly - Develop and maintain automated scripts for functional testing, ensuring they are reliable and scalable - Analyze and optimize automated test scripts for performance and accuracy, identifying opportunities for improvement - Collaborate with the development team to understand new features, business logic, and changes, and translate them into automated tests - Continuously improve the test automation framework and contribute to the tool's development and evolution - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure full understanding of test requirements and expected results - Provide input for test reports, summarizing test execution, results, and areas requiring attention - Perform regular root cause analysis of script failures to identify underlying issues and correct them in a timely manner - Participate in scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, providing input on testing progress and issues - Communicate test status, defect status, and progress effectively to both the internal team and the client - Perform detailed root cause analysis when test scripts fail, determining whether the issue lies in the script, test environment, or the application itself - Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, ensuring that all defects are managed according to severity and priority - Provide detailed data for progress and completion reports on test activities, test coverage, and defect resolution - Write and maintain detailed test documentation, including test case specifications, execution reports, and defect logs - Provide detailed feedback on test scripts and processes to ensure alignment with client expectations and quality standards - Keep track of test execution results, generate regular test execution reports, and analyze trends - Set up and maintain test environments, ensuring that the correct configurations and environments are in place for test execution - Identify and address any environment-related issues that could impact test execution or results Required Skills & Qualifications : - 6 years of experience in Automation Testing and Manual Testing - Strong expertise in SQL for data validation, backend testing, and writing queries to ensure data integrity and correctness - Hands-on experience with AccelQ as an automation tool; experience with other test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit) is a plus- Solid experience in designing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications - Strong understanding of functional testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) - Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and DevOps practices - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex issues - Experience with Agile methodologies, including working within Scrum teams - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (ref:hirist.tech)
