One of our client which is a leading IT Consulting and Services company in Healthcare domain is looking for : Java Architect with DICOM and Imaging Specialist Location : Mumbai / Pune Experience : - 16 - 22 yrs About the Role : We are seeking a highly skilled Java Architect with deep expertise in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) and Imaging Solutions to join our dynamic technology team. As a Java Architect, you will lead the architecture, design, and development of complex software systems in the healthcare imaging domain. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build cutting-edge solutions for medical imaging, ensuring high scalability, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities : System Architecture & Design : Lead the design and architecture of Java-based solutions with a focus on DICOM and medical imaging systems. DICOM Expertise : Implement and maintain DICOM protocols, handling image acquisition, storage, and transmission across multiple healthcare platforms. Development & Integration : Oversee the integration of DICOM systems into broader healthcare solutions, ensuring compatibility with various PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and RIS (Radiology Information Systems). Tech Leadership : Provide leadership in designing, building, and optimizing high-performance, distributed systems using Java technologies. Collaboration & Mentorship : Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions while providing technical mentorship to junior developers. Code Quality & Reviews : Ensure that the codebase adheres to best practices, including test-driven development (TDD), design patterns, and code reviews. Compliance & Security : Ensure all software solutions comply with relevant medical regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA requirements) and maintain the security and confidentiality of medical imaging data. Performance Optimization : Monitor and improve system performance, especially for large-scale medical image data processing and storage. Stay Updated : Keep up with the latest trends and developments in Java development, medical imaging, and DICOM standards. Required Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience : 8 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java. 3 years of experience working with DICOM (handling, processing, and managing medical image data) and imaging technologies in a healthcare environment. Proven experience designing and architecting large-scale, high-availability systems. Strong experience in cloud platforms, specifically for scalable storage and computing solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Familiarity with PACS and RIS systems and their integration with enterprise solutions. Skills : Strong expertise in Java and associated frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.). Hands-on experience with DICOM protocols and tools such as DCMTK, DICOMweb, and other medical imaging standards. Solid knowledge of image processing, compression techniques, and storage formats (e.g., JPEG2000, TIFF). Understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud-based databases for handling large-scale data storage. Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and others. Preferred Qualifications : Advanced certifications in Java architecture, medical imaging, or related fields. Experience with AI/ML in imaging or related technologies. Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Competitive salary and benefits package.
