An exciting opportunity awaits, a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our Maintenance department. The role will be responsible for the execution of servicing and heavy maintenance on a fleet of Kenworth C508 heavy haulage road trains with dual side tipping trailers. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and availability of the coal haulage road train fleet and we are looking for someone who will look after this fleet with pride. When required you will also integrate into the wider maintenance team to assist in the maintenance of our mining equipment fleet. This position offers the flexibility to live locally or DIDO on a 7 days on 7 days off day shift only roster. The Blair Athol Coal mine is located an easy 20 minute commute from the family-friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km northwest of the FIFO hub of Emerald and an easy driving distance from nearby coastal communities. The role responsibilities will be to; • Liaise with operators to ensure equipment is operating at peak performance • Scope equipment for defects and plan repairs • Diagnose and repair faults • Perform planned services on both tractor and tailer units. • Work in conjunction with the maintenance planning and execution teams to optimise efficiency of service delivery • Have a demonstrated positive work quality ethic • Ensure effective documented hand overs and record keeping for oncoming crews. • Be an effective team player • Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment • Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving What’s on offer • 7 days on 7 days off day shift only roster • Live locally or DIDO from the nearby established coastal towns of Mackay and surrounding areas. • Attractive salary package plus 6 weeks annual leave. • Performance related bonus (variable). • Fast paced and flexible working environment, with access to training and mentoring from innovative leaders and established industry experts. • Salary packaging options including novated car leasing • Referral bonuses available.
