About us Fitzroy is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects. In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and we also have our new underground longwall mine at Ironbark No.1. About the role Based on site at Ironbark No.1, reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Superintendent is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that forms part of our high-performing Site Leadership Team. As the Technical Services Superintendent you will be responsible for the safe and effective management of the technical services activities at the mine in support of achieving the mine safety, production, and budgetary objectives. You will possess a demonstrated commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with an ability to influence others at all levels within the organisation. You will have a high level of reasoning ability and problem-solving skills and be able to effectively plan and prioritise tasks. Key Responsibilities of the role will include: Coordinating the activities of the Technical Services team Leading and mentoring the technical services team, fostering a safety-focused environment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to address mine planning and strategies. Assist in the review and implementation of relevant SHMS documentation Developing and implementing mid and short-term mine plans Provide technical advice to the production departments and management team Contract management Life of Mine planning and budget formulation Got what it takes? Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, geosciences, or relevant discipline. Minimum of 5 years underground coal mining experience Mine scheduling software proficiency preferred Experience in ventilation, gas drainage, mine planning or geotechnical streams Ability to manage and lead a team to be a high performing team Ability to drive accountability and achieve results Strong focus on systems and processes Strategic thinker Fitzroy Benefits for you!
