Civic Events and Functions Officer Permanent | Full Time | 38 Hours Per Week (1.0 FTE) Premium Recquatic Membership | 12.5% Superannuation | 19 Day Month PACS Band 6 ($83,004 - $88,996 p/a) What’s On Offer An exciting opportunity exists for a creative and energetic individual to join our Engagement and Place team at the City of Kwinana. This is full-time position reporting to the Senior Events Officer and working in close collaboration alongside the Community Engagement department as well as the Executive and Councillors. As our new Civic Events and Functions Officer, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the City’s civic events, citizenship ceremonies and functions. The role also assists with the planning and delivery of the City’s Major Event program. Who Are We? What You’ll Need To make an impact in this role, the successful candidate will have: Considerable experience in a similar events or functions management role, preferably within the local government sector. Knowledge of current policies and guidelines relating to event management. Highly developed project management, planning and organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging timeframes. Highly developed interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and relationship building skills with an ability to provide a high level of customer service. Physical capacity to undertake manual handling for setting up and packing down events and functions, delivering and installing promotional signage and materials and other related manual handling tasks Willingness to work after hours and weekends, as required. Well-developed analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Tertiary qualification in events management, public relations, community development or related fields, or extensive relevant industry experience considered favourably. Well-developed computer literacy skills demonstrated in report, grant and/or policy writing, record management and correspondence. Driver’s licence, Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate.
